wikileaks donation reach$$$$$$

The whistleblowing website Wikileaks operates on charity donations, and according to the Wau Holland Foundation, which receives money for the site founded by Julian Assange, around $2 million was transferred to its accounts in 2010. Half of the sum was donated via the PayPal payment system, and the rest of the money was transferred through bank transactions after PayPal, Visa and MasterCard suspended operations with the account. The average donation is about $25, while the largest registered was $3,500. Wikileaks also recently reported its expenses. WikiLeaks is an international non-profit organization that publishes submissions of private, secret and classified media from anonymous news sources, news leaks and whistleblowers. Its leaks have caused much debate and embarrassment around the world, and its founder, Assange, is facing trial in the UK over possible extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted by the government on separate charges. Many fear that if extradited, Assange may be taken to the US, where he may be punished for his whistleblowing actions.
